Privacy Policy

This policy is written in plain language on purpose. It describes what we actually collect and do with it — not a generic template. If anything here is unclear, email us directly at the address at the bottom.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers everyone who uses Piti Tallawah — customers placing orders, and Sellers (home cooks and restaurants) with a page on the platform.

2. What we collect

From customers: name, email address, phone number (if provided), delivery address (for delivery orders), and your order history on the platform. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's own secure checkout — we never see or store your full card number ourselves.

From Sellers: business name, contact details, menu and photos, and the story/profile information you choose to add to your page. If you're on our flat-rate billing plan or receiving payouts, your banking and tax information is collected and held directly by Stripe, not by us.

3. How we use it

To process and fulfill orders, and send confirmation emails and (where enabled) text messages about your order status
To let Sellers manage their menu, view their orders, and see their own customer history
To operate optional features you or a Seller enable — like loyalty rewards or a Seller's newsletter to their own customers
To keep the platform secure and working correctly

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we don't use your data to build advertising profiles.

Mobile information specifically: your phone number and SMS opt-in status are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This information is used solely to send you the order and account notifications you've opted into — nothing else.

4. Who we share it with

We work with a small number of service providers to actually run the platform, and only share what each one needs to do its job:

Stripe — payment processing, and payouts to Sellers
Supabase — our database and account system
Resend — sending order confirmation and account-related emails
Telnyx — sending order-related text messages, where enabled

A Seller can see the orders, contact details, and order history of customers who've ordered from them specifically — that's necessary for them to actually fulfill your order and is part of how the platform works. Sellers cannot see your payment card details.

5. Cookies & tracking

We use only what's technically necessary to keep you logged in and remember your cart while you're ordering. We don't run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

6. Your choices

A Seller's newsletter is opt-in, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by emailing us — see below
Some information (like completed order records) may need to be retained for a period for accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes even after a deletion request

7. Children

Piti Tallawah is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
